At Sand Creek Elementary School, we believe there’s a lot more to education than just academics. Students need the opportunity to round out their learning with extracurricular, hand-on activities. We offer our students many options for getting involved outside the classroom. Please encourage your child to get involved in these great programs!
This club focuses on the skill of archery. It meets during a scheduled time to prepare for our annual archery tournament. This club is for students in grades 4–6.
Boys and girls in 5th and 6th grades have the opportunity to play basketball for our school. These teams play other elementary schools in our district.

Our student council is a group of students in grades 5–6. The goal of the student council is to promote leadership within our school by teaching students to be good role models. This group promotes good public relations and good citizenship by implementing community service projects. We meet two times a month. Our student council was recognized as an honor council at the state level, during the school years 2003 to the present.
Our Spell Bowl team is comprised of students in grades 4–6. The results of a spelling test in early fall determine our team. The team meets weekly during the first semester to prepare for the spell bowl competition.
Our Math Bowl team is comprised of students in the 4th–6th grades. The team gets together, beginning in December. The team meets in December, January, and February to prepare for the math bowl competition.
Students in the 4th–6th grades may participate in the Young Cyclones Drama Club. Club members practice after school beginning during the second semester, and they perform in front of the school body.
